SUMMARY:Poetry Competition 2012
DESCRIPTION:The ever popular annual poetry competition always produces a fa
 scinating poetic mix of styles and forms. Doggerel and limericks sit side 
 by side with haiku and sonnets.\nThe theme this year was ‘Postcards’ a
 nd all the competition entries were read at this meeting.\nWe had two judg
 es this year\, author Malcolm Welshman and artist / illustrator Lyn Milne
 r\, who talked about some of the entries that ‘caught their eye’.\nFir
 st Prize  -  Annie Fisher for a trio of excellent poems - Multiple-Choic
 e holiday postcard\, Postcard from a long ago island and Slug on a postcar
 d.\nSecond Prize  - Gaie Vickers for The Postcard\nThird Prize  -  Jane
