SUMMARY:Lorraine Mariner - Poetry and in conversation with Maya Pieris
DESCRIPTION:Lorraine Mariner grew up in Upminster and attended Huddersfield
  University where she read English\, and University College London where s
 he read Library and Information Studies.\nShe now works at the National Po
 etry Library in London.\nShe has had several poetry collections published 
 including Furniture and Bye for Now and was shortlisted for the Forward Po
 etry Prize in 2008.\nEssentially an 'Urban' poet\, her poetry is distincti
 ve and succinct and always interesting.   She will talk about her work at
  the National Poetry Library and the poems that inspire her along with som
 e of her own work.\nMaya Pieris will be presenting this evening and readin
 g some of the poetry.
